We’ve reached an important and controversial point in our study of Revelation today, when we’ll begin a study of chapter thirteen. Here we get a glimpse of the coming global leader, also known as the antichrist. This person who will commandeer the reigns of world power will have very distinct characteristics, and it certainly can’t hurt us to know what they are.

As we continue our study through Revelation on the program today we’re going to finish chapter twelve.  We’re going to learn about one of the great battles of all time.. one that’s been fought since the beginning of time and one that continues today. It’s the battle for control between satan and God.

Revelation is about one thing..... Jesus Christ and His power, His glory and His soon coming return to this earth. Before the millennial kingdom of the Lord is established, there are a series of events that must take place. Among them is satan’s battle for power... a battle that remarkably takes place not on earth, but in Heaven.

The last part of Revelation chapter eleven provides a chance to step back. We’re at a point about halfway through the Great Tribulation - a time of unprecedented destruction and suffering. In Chapter eleven -  we will learn about the third woe, or the seventh trumpet judgment. And this results in a point where God is worshipped.

Today we look at Revelation chapter ten, and after the destruction and loss of life we saw in chapter nine, chapter ten is a chance to catch our breath and meet a big Angel with a little book. There has been much speculation over the years as to the identity of this Angel. In fact, many Biblical scholars think it may very well be Jesus Christ himself. Pastor Al will discuss that possibility and many other interesting aspects of this chapter on today’s program.

If you saw a headline that said one third of the world’s population was being killed, would you believe it? Well, as we’ll find out today, it’s going to happen, because the Bible says so, in Revelation chapter nine. It’s a sad time, and yet we as believers can take heart in knowing that through God’s Grace, we won’t be there to suffer through it.

Our scripture text is in Revelation chapter nine as we continue our verse by verse study of the last book in the Bible. If you’ve read ahead, you know that we’re going to get a crash course in end times Entomology. Entomology is the study of insect life, but it’s safe to say that no scientist has ever encountered the hoard of Locusts that will invade the earth as described in Revelation chapter nine.

It’s not much fun to study the terrible fate that awaits the earth during the tribulation, but we certainly need to see it and understand it for two very good reasons. First, it’s part of God’s word, and secondly, if we understand what will happen during this time of upheaval, it will certainly be an inspiration to us to avoid being around when it takes place!

Today’s message is titled “Delayed Judgement Released”. We don’t mean to scare anyone, but what begins to happen in Revelation chapter eight signals the beginning of the end for this world. Of course, as born again believers in Jesus Christ, we won’t be around for the terror and destruction signaled by these trumpets. That’s the good news found in an otherwise dark and dreary picture painted in this section of Revelation.
