Encouragement in Hard Times Part 2

Pastor Al Pittman will continue his verse by verse series through the Psalms today, with another look at Psalm eighty-nine. Here we see the Psalmist remembering God’s covenant with King David, and a sorrow over lost blessings. Maybe as we come to you today, you feel as though there is little to nothing to be thankful for. Your life is a mess, people are being cruel to you, your job is being threatened, and you’re in debt up to your ears. Well, the good news is that in Christ there is something to be thankful for.

Here, we are again witness to the praise the Psalmist has for God’s goodness, His mercy, and His protective love for His people. We’re making our way through the Book of Acts right now and today we’ll focus our attention on chapters fifteen and sixteen. We’ll see that the Lord used Paul to lead people to salvation, but Paul also recognized the importance of following Jesus’ model of discipleship. Jesus poured Himself into twelve men who, in turn, poured themselves into the world.
