Come Back To The Grace Place part 2

October 4, 2024

As we continue in Galatians one today, we are going to continue to see Paul’s angry reaction to his beloved friends in Galatia turning to a false gospel. Paul had taught them a gospel based on the grace of God, and the Galatians had turned to a gospel of works. Paul was thoroughly ticked!

Today we begin a series in Paul’s letter to the Galatian church. The underlying theme of this series is going to be one word - grace. The churches in Galatia had strayed away from the truths Paul had taught them when the church was formed. Salvation through grace was the corner stone, and the Galatians had listened to the wrong teachers after Paul left, and now they believed they had to work for their salvation. That’s the same false doctrine that many people are falling for today - even in the strongest Christian churches.

It’s been well said...  “you can tell who your God is by what you think about the most, and who you seek to please the most.” To help assure your God is the right God - and settle this issue once and for all, let’s join pastor Al for our final study in Joshua

We have been enjoying an in-depth look at the book of Joshua lately, and today we begin the final message in this great series. Here we see Joshua’s final encouragement to God’s people. Joshua twenty-four, verse fifteen contains the well-known words, “as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord”. Is there any better way to live than that?

It’s been observed that we hold tight to what is most important... and we will let go of those things that don’t matter. But sometimes - we let go of what should be the most important to us. There are some things we should never let go! Join us in Joshua chapters twenty-one through  twenty-three

Today we continue with Al’s verse by verse series through Joshua. We are nearing the end of our series, and today as we look at chapter twenty-one, we see a long list of property that was given by Joshua to other people groups. Why is this important? We’ll find out today. Join us in Joshua twenty one.

According to census figures, there are seventy four million people born every year in this world. That means two point three births per second. Does that make you feel insignificant at all? It shouldn't! Consider this: every human being is made in God’s own image and He loves and cares about every single one of us! I mention this because today’s message from pastor Al Pittman on The Dwelling Place, concerns significance - or a lack there of. Our scripture reference is Joshua eighteen through twenty.

Today we’ll continue pastor Al’s series through Joshua, and the topic today will be complacency. That’s a very dangerous word. There’s no doubt that complacency played a role in the terror attacks in 2001. That’s an extreme example, but complacency in the Christian life can be dangerous as well.

Today, Pastor Al takes us back to the Old Testament book of Joshua.  In chapters fifteen through twenty, we see, among other things, a complaint from the Israelites and Joshua’s reply.  The Canaanites were an enemy of Israel, and Joshua urged his people to drive them out of the land.  Pastor Al will show us how the Canaanites are much like sin.  Sin is our enemy and it must be driven out of our lives.

Following God’s will is a tough thing, isn’t it? In the first place, we often times don’t know what God’s will is. Then, we wonder what God must be thinking if He really thinks I can do what He wants me to do! Here in Joshua fifteen, we again are reminded that God’s will is the best way to go – and seeking it is what we should always be doing.
