Church Leadership Part 2

March 9, 2024

Titus is one of the so-called “pastoral epistles”, because Paul wrote it to a pastor named Titus, who was struggling with a church body on the Island of Crete. So, the question might be asked, “what does a letter to a pastor have to do with me?”. Can I simply urge you to stay tuned? Because today’s message is practical, challenging, and pointed directly at the heart of every believer - pastor or not!

Past Episodes

At the present time, we are making our way through the book of Titus, and in the first chapter, we read of a tough task given to Titus. But this mission was possible through the power of almighty God.  False prophets existed in that day, just as they do in our day.  But the question is, how do we respond to them?

Pastor Al Pittman is currently leading us through the book of Titus.  As we return to chapter one, we see that Titus was given quite a challenge. He was left in a city known then as Crete, where rebellious men and deceivers were abundant.  Let’s see now how he handled it by joining Pastor Al for a message from his new series in Titus titled “Setting Things in Order”.

Today we continue pastor Al’s new series in Titus titled “Setting Things in Order”. The book of Titus was written by Paul to his friend and co-warrior in the Lord, Titus. It’s al about the function of the church, and the function of those who are in charge at the church. In the day we are living in, we need biblical truth to prevail over human preference when it comes to the Christian church.

We have a vitally important message to share with you today concerning, among other things, the current direction of the Christian church in America. It’s not a particularly pretty picture, either. Government officials are openly hostile to Christianity. Pastors are being harassed for preaching biblical truth. Many pastors have succumbed to the pressure and are now teaching a “woke” version of the bible. What can we do? What should we do?

Today we are kicking off a brand new series in the book of Titus. I’m sure you’re familiar with the “out of order” sign. We see them on vending machines, elevators and if we are being really honest today, we would see them on a lot of churches. Political correctness and the “seeker sensitive” movement have caused a lot of churches to abandon the truth of the gospel message, and instead teach a watered down version of what a church is supposed to teach and represent. Pastor Al has titled this series “Setting Things in Order”.

We could sum this section of scripture up with one word,  - “Restoration.”  When we wander away from the truth, the Lord’s deep desire is to restore us.  Maybe you’ve strayed a bit?  Today can be your day to get back on the right path.

We return to our study of James today, and we will be wrapping up the series on our next broadcast. Pastor Al has some important truths to share with us today concerning health - both physically and spiritually!
February 29, 2024
As pastor Al mentioned at the beginning of this series, James is one of the most practical books in the Bible. It speaks of taming the tongue, the importance of putting our faith into real action, and dealing with the hardships of life. When we suffer we so often ask God to take the pain away!  But the Lord has something greater in view, than our comfort.  He wants to conform us into the image of Christ!
