Al Pittman

Body of Health

September 12, 2023

Pastor Al Pittman is leading a study of Romans right now, and today underscores chapter twelve and verses three through nine.  Getting along with each other is what this section of Romans is all about. Paul felt fellowship and love was so important that he included it in several of his letters. The body of Christ should be a body of love and respect.

We’ve been studying the Book of Romans lately and we’ll be zeroing in on chapter twelve today. In this chapter, Paul not only teaches us how to effectively live out our faith in a world that is often hostile to the Gospel message, but he also provides us with some great insight into how to interact with one another as fellow believers in the body of Christ.

Today’s program will deal once again with something that should be a priority for every Christian - keeping a divine perspective. That’s getting to be more and more of a challenge as we live through these darkening days. The world demands that we soften our stance for God and His truth. They demand that we change our perspective and bow to the idols of sexual sin and self serving behavior. Can we possibly keep a divine perspective in an environment like this?

Unfortunately, when the first trial comes - as they most certainly will - the new believer often finds discouragement and feelings of abandonment. On today’s Dwelling Place, we’ll see the apostle Paul working to dispel this notion in the Book of Romans.

Pastor Al Pittman takes us to Romans today, with a look at chapter eleven. We’ll  learn that the miracle of the re-gathering of Israel is only the beginning of what’s in store for them.

Throughout the Bible, the people of Israel consistently rejected Jesus as the Messiah. So, in response, has God given up on the nation of Israel?   Some suggest He has. But in Romans, chapter eleven, the apostle Paul says otherwise.  We’ll see what he had to say in just a moment.  Welcome to today’s edition of The Dwelling Place.  We’re about to see how God feels about His chosen people, and I think you’ll be greatly encouraged as we place the spotlight on the grace and patience of our Lord.

We read in the bible that God has temporarily set the nation of Israel aside, until the fullness of the Gentiles has come in.  At that time, all Israel will be saved.  Romans eleven will emphasize this glorious truth, that God isn’t done with the Jews.

Are you ready for a challenge today? I hope so, because pastor Al is going to take us to Titus chapter two for a discussion about perspective. As we look around us today, we see a nation that has changed its perspective. God used to be the prism we looked at life through, but now, well, it’s pretty obvious our nation has lost it’s way. We need a divine perspective. Divine Perspective the title pastor Al has given today’s message as we continue his new series titled “Setting Things in Order”.

Pastor Al is in the middle of a study in Romans, and the plan today is to spotlight chapter eleven.  You might recall in chapter ten, we were talking about Israel’s stubborn refusal to believe in Christ, and so a logical question on the heals of that is, “Is God through with them as a nation?”  Far from it.  The Lord has a wonderful plan to reach Israel, and chapter eleven makes that clear to us.

Today on The Dwelling Place we revisit Romans ten.  Sharing God’s peace with others is just one of the precepts Al will share today, as we bring you a message titled “Peace In Troubled Times”.
