In this week's episode of Defending Faith, Family, and Freedom with Gary Bauer, senior vice president of public policy at the James Dobson Family Institute, Bauer discusses what he calls the "obviously rigged" Trump non-disclosure agreement trial in New York City that convicted former president Trump of 34 felonies. Bauer describes what happened in this trial as being much more significant than Trump, with far-reaching ramifications that should be terrifying to all Americans. Bauer states that a week following the verdict, Trump's attorneys say they can find no specific identifiable crime in the indictment or judgment, and most fair-minded current and former prosecutors and defense attorneys agree. "This is the kind of lawless action one would see in an authoritarian dictatorship, not in the United States of America," says Bauer. Don't miss this enlightening and explosive episode.

In this week's episode of Defending Faith, Family, and Freedom with Gary Bauer, senior vice president of public policy at the Dr. James Dobson Family Institute, Bauer suggests the NFL's reaction to Kansas City Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker's recent commencement speech at Benedictine College (a Catholic university) is, at best, an unfortunate misunderstanding, and,at worst, a gruesome anti-Christian lecture from the NFL's DEI (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion) bureaucrat. Bauer plays excerpts from Butker's Benedictine remarks and asks listeners to determine if his speech was extreme and misogynistic. Spoiler alert: As Christian evangelicals, Bauer believes you'll likely stand up and cheer rather than jeer along with the progressive left.

In this week's episode of Defending Faith, Family, and Freedom with Gary Bauer, senior vice president of public policy at the James Dobson Family Institute, Bauer asks Terry Schilling, president of the American Principles Project, about the many dangers facing America. "In today's society, we are our own gods. We have our own truths. We are our own ultimate authority," says Schilling. Not only is this self-absorbed narcissism infecting the culture at large, it has wormed its way into America's churches, added Schilling. So, what is the antidote for this disturbing trend? Bauer and Schilling say American Christians must get back to basics—worship of God instead of self. We must recognize the importance of nurturing one's family and the critical role families play in contributing to a healthy society. Although this used to be self-evident, Americans would be well-served if we returned to the concept of Christian citizenship: God, family, country, in that order.

In this week's episode of Defending Faith, Family, and Freedom with Gary Bauer, senior vice president of public policy at the James Dobson Family Institute, Bauer shares his deep concern over results from recent polls that show a majority of Christian Americans are ambivalent on the issue of abortion. These same Christians come to this conclusion because they believe the Bible is silent on abortion. Bauer says that these individuals are woefully mistaken. The Bible's affirmation of life and the preborn is clear and extensive through the Word of God. Citing Deuteronomy 30:19, "This day I call heaven and earth as witnesses against you that I have set before you life and death, blessings and curses. Now choose life, so that you and your children may live." Bauer says that according to news reports, despite President Biden's poor poll numbers, he and his re-election team haven't a care in the world because they know Biden has an ace up his sleeve—abortion and women voters. Word is out that the President plans to spend tens of millions of dollars aimed like a laser at women. These ads will tell women that their right to an abortion is on the ballot, and only Joe Biden stands in the way of Donald Trump and the Republican Party taking that right from them. The Biden team believes that for women, access to terminate a pregnancy, from conception up to birth, trumps every other issue, including a woman's ability to afford to feed their family, buy a car, purchase a home, or even the threat of world war. Bauer says he prays they are wrong and pleads with Christians to get off the sidelines and vote for life and religious liberty in November! Both are on the ballot.
