Where Are the Ape-Men?

Genesis 2:20
“And Adam gave names to all cattle, and to the fowl of the air, and to every beast of the field; but for Adam there was not found an help meet for him.”

It is almost like a religious catechism to state that apes and humans share a common ancestor from which they have both evolved. Of course, evolutionists get quite cross if creationists allege that they believe humans evolved from apes. Yet, such an ancestor would be less rather than more evolved than an ape, so methinks evolutionists complain too much.

But what happens when we investigate the proposed ape-men from which we supposedly evolved? Historically, there were some that turned out to be hoaxes – such as Piltdown Man and Nebraska Man. Although evolutionary theory does not stand or fall on the disproving of Piltdown Man, we should remember that evolutionists believed this was a possible missing link for about half a century.

Other candidates would include creatures such as Neanderthals, Denisovans, homo erectus, etc. But when we look at reconstructions of their skeletons, we see no significant differences between these and so-called "modern" humans. Moreover, most scientists accept that many of these interbred with "modern" humans, in which case, why are they being classified as anything other than human? Still more ape-men candidates include australopithecines and similar creatures. Yet closer analysis of these suggests they are actually knuckle-walking apes. Even the famous Lucy has been so classified by some scientists.

It seems that ape-men are really not ape-men at all. They are either fully human, fully ape or fully fraud. All humans are descended from the one man, Adam, created by God.

Prayer: We acknowledge, Lord God, that You made mankind uniquely in Your image to be separate from the animals, have dominion over them and carry out Your purposes for Your glory. Amen.
