The Great News of the Gospel – Part 19
Ever worked hard but with the wrong method? Ever moved fast but in the wrong direction? In Romans 10, Paul says the Jews have a zeal for God but not in accordance with knowledge. They miss salvation when they refuse to see how easy it is to be saved. And their bloodline or law-keeping don’t bring them any rightness before God. There’s no favoritism with Him! The truth is we can’t say who is saved and who is not. It’s all about a simple faith in Jesus, and anyone can believe and be saved. Find out more about the simplicity of righteousness by faith in this potent message on Romans 10.
Discussion Questions for Romans 10:1-21:
1. Read verses 1-3. Can you think of some other examples of people who “have a zeal for God but not in accordance with knowledge”?
2. Read verse 4. What does it mean to you that “Christ is the end of the law”?
3. Read verses 5-8 and react to this statement: We should not try to predict who is saved and who is not.
4. Read verses 11-13. How does this address the false teaching that God only wants to save some?
5. React to Andrew’s statement: “It’s not about the size of your faith. It’s about where you point it!”
6. Read verses 19-21. How does this passage once again affirm that Paul has been talking about people groups (not individuals) being part of God’s predestined plan?
