Does religion ever feel like a never-ending list of impossible rules? There’s a reason for that. In my latest message, I dive into 2 Corinthians 3, where Paul describes the Ten Commandments as a ministry of death and condemnation. Ouch! But here’s the good news: There’s something way more glorious – the ministry of the Spirit. It’s like trading in a black-and-white TV for a 4K Ultra HD experience. Paul’s conclusion? The old way is out, and the new way is in. The veil is lifted, and we see the truth: Our confidence comes from God’s grace, not from tablets of stone. So, if you’re ready to ditch the outdated way of Law and embrace the life-giving freedom of God’s Spirit, click through to watch the full message. Trust me, you won’t want to miss this eye-opener! Discussion Questions for 2 Corinthians 3: 1. Read verses 4-5. React to this statement: You can have confidence toward God, and your adequacy is from Him. 2. Read verse 6. What are we qualified to minister? What are we not qualified to minister? 3. Read verses 7-8. How are the Ten Commandments described? What ministry is more glorious? (Be specific for both.) 4. Read verses 9-11. Again, how are the Ten Commandments described? And what ministry is more glorious? (Be specific for both.) 5. Read verses 12-13. What is Paul’s conclusion about ministry here after comparing the two covenants? 6. Read verses 14-16. What does the “veil” represent here? When is it lifted? What do people then see? 7. Read verse 17. What is the atmosphere the Holy Spirit cultivates? What do you think this looks like in your life? 8. Read verse 18. Why does Paul mention a “mirror”? What do you normally see when you look in the mirror? And what does Paul see happening in your life?

What is the holiness movement? How can I rescue my friends from it? Our kids are not attending college and want to live at home. How should we approach this? How old is the universe? Can we know for sure? How do we relate to people we disagree with on this issue? What is replacement theology? What is a healthy perspective on Israel and the gospel? How can I introduce the basics of the grace message to those around me?

How could Jesus not know the timing of His return and still be God? I’m experiencing guilt and anxiety over losing my son. I wonder: Is it God’s punishment for my sins?

Romans 8 reveals something incredible: There’s no condemnation for those in Christ. That’s right – there’s no angry, accusing, or critical voice from God. Ever. He’s for us, not against us! Join me as we unpack how this game-changing truth can transform your relationship with God and your everyday life. You’ll see the powerful reminder that Christian growth is not about trying harder; it’s about realizing what’s already true about you. Read verses 1-2. How does understanding that there is no condemnation for those in Christ Jesus impact how you relate to God? 2. Read verses 3-4. What does it mean that the requirement of the Law is fulfilled in us? How does this shape your view of grace? 3. Read verses 5-6. How do you differentiate between setting your mind on the flesh versus setting your mind on the Spirit? Which is your new “default” now? 4. Read verses 7-8. What is a “mind set on the flesh” exactly? What does God think of fleshly religious effort? 5. Read verses 9-10. What does it mean to you that you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit? How might this truth impact your view of everything you do? 6. Read verse 11. What do you think the Spirit giving life to your mortal body really means? Is Paul referring to now or in the future? 7. Read verses 12-13. What does it mean to put to death the deeds of the body by the Spirit? Is this currently happening in you? Or is it something that could only potentially happen? Explain. 8. Read verse 14. How does being led by the Spirit affirm your identity as a child of God, and what does this mean for your daily decisions and actions?

Do we look to the church for love and acceptance? Or only to Jesus? Can we lose our salvation or not? It seems like there’s mixed teaching out there about this! Does God want to exalt us? What does that even mean?
