“I feel lost now! How can there be a loving God?”

August 26, 2024

What does it mean to “receive the grace of God in vain”? Why does Paul tell the Corinthians not to teach unclean things? I was a believer, but I got involved in materialism. Now, I feel lost. Why would God make a Devil who would tempt me? How can there be a loving God if there’s so much suffering in the world? What does it mean to ask God to forgive you of all your sins?

Imagine this: As a believer in Christ, you’re in the Trinity! Yes, you read that right. And if that doesn’t make you sit up, how about this? The Father loves you just as much as He loves Jesus. Mind blown yet? Plus, you’ve been given Jesus’ glory. Talk about spiritual stress relief; you can stop chasing after closeness with God! If you’re ready to ditch the ordinary and embrace the extraordinary truths Jesus prayed for you, click through to watch now. You won’t want to miss this one! Discussion Questions: 1. React to this statement: Jesus wants His joy to be made full in you. 2. How are you “not of the world”? How are you kept from the evil one? 3. What does “sanctify” mean? How are we sanctified? 4. React to this statement: You are in the Trinity. 5. What does it mean to you that Jesus has given you His glory? 6. React to this statement: The Father loves you just as He loves Jesus. 7. React to this statement: God’s love is in you, and Christ is in you.

What should you do when you don’t feel God is pleased with you? How could the people mentioned in Matthew 7 cast out demons and heal if they weren’t saved? Does Hebrews 6 suggest you can lose your salvation? What does it mean to be “glorified” in Romans 8:30? Are we giving too much power to Satan? Can a Christian receive a hex or a curse? How do we reconcile the advice to marry if you burn with lust with the idea that we have been given a spirit of self-control?

Why does James reference the Old Testament law so much in chapter 2? I was a lukewarm Christian, but now I’m serious again. Should I get re-baptized?

Are all humans born in the perfect image of God today? Does Jesus know the time of His return? If we don’t have to ask for God’s forgiveness of each sin, then what about the Lord‘s Prayer?

The New Testament is brimming with high-impact spiritual insights, and Matthew 7 is no exception. From the infamous “judge not” passage to the narrow and wide gates, the words of Jesus challenge us to rethink our approach to faith and relationships. Ever tried sharing truth with someone who just didn’t care? Jesus has some bold advice on when to move on. And let’s not forget the so-called “golden rule” – is it really the pinnacle of how we should treat others? If you’re ready to cut through the religious noise and discover what Jesus really meant, watch now and be encouraged by God’s goodness! Discussion Questions: 1. Read Matthew 7:1-5. What is the main point? How does it parallel Romans 2:17-24? 2. Read Matthew 7:6. Describe a time you tried to share the truth with someone who didn’t want to hear it. What did you learn from that experience? And from this Scripture? 3. Read Matthew 7:7-11. How is this evangelistic? How does it point to the goodness of God? 4. Read Matthew 7:12. This is commonly referred to as “the golden rule.” How does it fall short of a new covenant, grace-based motivation for treating others well? 5. Read Matthew 7:13-14. Describe the narrow gate. Describe the wide gate. 6. Reader Matthew 7:17-19. React to this statement: I’m a good tree that bears good fruit. 7. Read Matthew 7:21-23. Why does Jesus tell some to depart from Him? How do we know they were not ever believers?
