Romans 8:29-32 Part 1

In Romans chapter eight we’re given five words that describe our salvation experience. And the truths contained in them are not meant to confuse or divide but to reassure us in our salvation.

As we continue verse by verse through the book of Romans we come to a very familiar verse… Romans eight verse twenty-eight!   We’ll learn that God rules and overrules. The implications while at first may sound frightening are very reassuring. You see as believers we are in the hands of God who in His providence works all things together for good.

Fear can so easily grip our lives, and maybe it has a hold on you?  Today on According to the Scriptures receive a word from God that can calm those fears and brings perspective into your life.  We’ll recall a time in the apostle Paul’s life when he was afraid, and the Lord ministered to him through a vision.  It speaks volumes to us today, for those seasons of life when we’re drifting into fear.

Perhaps the most difficult challenge we face concerning God or the greatest struggle some have with God is why does He allow suffering. The problem of pain is an age-old problem and a very difficult one.  How do we deal with the problem of pain? Why is there so much suffering in the world? Is there a remedy? We’ll get some answers as we continue in the book of Romans.

We’ve been spending some quality time in chapter eight of the book of Romans, with pastor Damian Kyle. Unlike every other religion, Christianity is a response of love to God’s great love for us. Last time we began to consider the Christian’s motivation of love and gratitude to a faithful and loving God and Father. We go a little deeper into that discussion today from Romans eight.

About Damian Kyle

Damian Kyle committed his life to the Lord in 1980 at Calvary Chapel Napa California at the age of 25. He had previously been employed as a cable splicer with the phone company. His family moved from Napa to Modesto in June of 1985 to plant a Calvary Chapel with the blessing of their home church. He now serves as the pastor of Calvary Chapel in Modesto, California.
