Our salvation and our justification… those are incredible blessings that we cherish as believers in Christ.  I think you’d agree that would be more than enough, but God has blessed us with so much more, and we’ll delve into it today on According to the Scriptures.  Pastor Damian Kyle will be finishing up Romans chapter five and as we do you’ll see how blessed we are as children of God.

When you hear God will save us simply on the basis of faith, you might be thinking that sounds too good to be true. You might find it easy to praise the Lord in church on Sunday when all is well, but what about in a jail cell, and you’re there for being faithful to God’s calling on your life?  That’s the place we find Paul and Silas in Acts sixteen.  While we might expect them to be moaning and groaning about the circumstances they find themselves in, they were actually praying and singing hymns to God!  Today on According to the Scriptures we’ll see how we can follow their lead, next time we find ourselves in a trial similar to this dungeon in Philippi.

About Damian Kyle

Damian Kyle committed his life to the Lord in 1980 at Calvary Chapel Napa California at the age of 25. He had previously been employed as a cable splicer with the phone company. His family moved from Napa to Modesto in June of 1985 to plant a Calvary Chapel with the blessing of their home church. He now serves as the pastor of Calvary Chapel in Modesto, California.
