While many in our world minimize, downplay or excuse sin, today on According To The Scriptures we’ll learn or at least be reminded what God really thinks about it and His answer for it.  We’re glad you’ve joined us. As pastor Damian Kyle continues in the book of Romans chapter one we’ll hear about God’s view of sin and what’s to be done about it.

Contrary to every other world or religious view our relationship with the Lord is based on grace. In every other view, you must pay with good works, or karma, or pull yourself up by your own bootstraps. That leaves us constantly striving and never attaining.  Let’s find our place in the book of Romans – where we are reminded that our salvation is by grace, from start to finish.

What a blessing it is to have good and godly friends, who will stand by our side through thick and thin and encourage us in the ways of the Lord.  And though we might be different in temperament and personality, we love them none the less.  Can you think of someone in your life that fits that description?  Today on According to the Scriptures pastor Damian Kyle draws attention to a precious friendship and relationship between Paul and Timothy.  It all began in Lystra.

Without a doubt our mothers have a unique and powerful influence on the lives of their children.  Those of you with a godly mother, as I have, can look back over the years and see and appreciate the wisdom they imparted to us.  Their passion, relationship to us, and desire for our good, is like no other!  And they also are good about warning us too too!  Today on According to the Scriptures we’ll hear the wisdom of a Mother from Proverbs chapter 31, that we can all stand to benefit from.

We’re saved by grace alone through faith alone. Salvation is a gift to be received not achieved.  As Christians we believe that. According to the Scriptures is the radio ministry of Calvary Chapel Modesto with Pastor Damian Kyle. 1 Corinthians 15:3-4 says, “For I delivered to you first of all that which I also received: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures.”

About Damian Kyle

Damian Kyle committed his life to the Lord in 1980 at Calvary Chapel Napa California at the age of 25. He had previously been employed as a cable splicer with the phone company. His family moved from Napa to Modesto in June of 1985 to plant a Calvary Chapel with the blessing of their home church. He now serves as the pastor of Calvary Chapel in Modesto, California.
