World Missions Begin Part 2

January 28, 2025

We’re about to continue our series, “Be the Church,” a study in the book of Acts.  As we get back into chapter thirteen today, we’re following Paul and Barnabas on their first missionary journey.  You might think of it as a journal of their fascinating trip.  God may or may not call you to leave your home and go to a foreign land, but whether you’re in Africa, Aurora, or Philadelphia… you’re to be involved in the ministry and sharing the gospel.

I think it’s safe to say we’ve all been misunderstood and had someone falsely accuse us of something. Worse yet is when people believe it, without even talking to you! Today on Abounding Grace we’ll see that this even happened to the apostle Paul. And how he dealt with it will provide helpful guidance for the next time it happens to us.
January 25, 2025
It really is a privilege to be used by God and be on mission with Jesus.  Grab hold of that mindset as you join us for Abounding Grace.  As we’ve just begun a new year, it’s a good time to recall what our purpose in life is.  We have a wonderful calling from the Lord, and pastor Ed Taylor will point that out to us as we continue in Acts chapter thirteen.

As we’ve just entered into a new year you can be sure we will have many opportunities to reach people with the gospel in 2025.  God desires to reach the lost, and wants to use you to do it. Today on Abounding Grace we’ll be encouraged to receive our assignment from the Lord to share this gospel.  We’re on mission with Jesus!

Your mission should you choose to accept it…. Is to get on mission with Jesus!  God is doing a great work today, rescuing and redeeming mankind, and we can be apart of it.  That comes to our attention in today’s study of Acts chapter thirteen on Abounding Grace.  Pastor Ed Taylor will have a look at the first three verses, and tell us about ministry that is to the Lord and for the Lord, using the examples of Mary and Martha.
January 22, 2025
Have you ever thought of yourself as a missionary? If you’re a Christian, that’s exactly what you’re called to be. Now you don’t have to go oversees to do that, it can happen in your own neighborhood!  Today on Abounding Grace pastor Ed Taylor challenges us to be the church and get on mission with Jesus, wherever He calls us.
January 21, 2025
Today on Abounding Grace we’re talking about discipleship.  Pastor Ed Taylor will give us 7 things to help you follow Jesus better!  And it all starts with time in the Word and prayer.  All of this is part of our series in Acts called, “Be the Church,” and we’ll be focusing in particular on chapter 12 verse 25.

Maybe you’ve had some things that were said about you that were just not right or fair. Whether it’s in the form of gossip or slander, it can be downright hurtful. But you’re in good company, because the apostle Paul and even Jesus faced false accusations and criticism. Today on Abounding Grace pastor Ed Taylor will point to one such occasion in Paul’s life. And we’ll hear him answer a couple of the charges.
January 18, 2025
At the end of the Gospel of Matthew we read the charge from Jesus, that we call the Great Commission.  And part of it involves making disciples!  But what does that look like practically speaking?  We’re about to find out as we open Acts chapter twelve verse twenty-five on Abounding Grace.  Pastor Ed Taylor will provide a great example of someone who was used in the discipleship process.  His name is Barnabus.
January 17, 2025
Today on Abounding Grace we contrast the lives of two very different people!  One was in prison, resting in the Lord, and was delivered on the heels of prayer!  The other was in a prison of sorts too…that of rebellion.  And he was taken out.  Pastor Ed Taylor will relate this to our lives.
