No doubt you’ve had this happen to you… you’re absolutely confident God has called you to accept a job, or move somewhere, or go talk to someone… and then suddenly the door slams shut.  The Lord then changes your direction and you’re left wondering what to do next. Did you really hear God correctly? We’ll have disagreements and conflicts from time to time.   Whether it’s with our spouse, coworker or someone in the church.  And sometimes it can even get rather heated!  Today on Abounding Grace we’ll observe a disagreement between Paul and Barnabus.  They had a much different perspective on the way things should go, and you’ll no doubt be able to relate on some level!  Pastor Ed Taylor will point out that sometimes it’s best to just depart as friends, like they did.

We’re in the middle of a series of studies in Acts, and in chapter fifteen we observe a disagreement over how a person is really saved.  Some suggest that works come into play in the salvation process, and others contend no we’re saved by grace through faith and that alone.  Those two camps are still around today, in case you haven’t noticed.

When we know of a person that’s living in sin, it’s tempting to just look the other way and think it’s none of our business!  But as we’ll see today on Abounding Grace the much better response is to reach out to help restore the individual!  Now with that said a great amount of love needs to be behind the approach.  Pastor Ed Taylor will help us with that as we pay another visit to Second Corinthians two.

About Pastor Ed Taylor

Pastor Ed is a native of Southern California. Ed responded to the gospel in 1991 at Calvary Chapel in Downey, CA. There he spent eight years learning, growing and serving. In 1999, sensing the call of God, Ed and his family moved to the Denver area hoping to be used by God. In December 1999, Calvary Church began Sunday services and today impacts the community for Jesus in wonderful ways.


Pastor Ed's heart is to be transparent from the pulpit, as he truly desires that everyone, from all walks of life, will embrace Jesus and grow in His grace. Ed and his wife Marie have been married since 1989 and have three children, of which their oldest son Eddie went to be with the Lord in 2013. Ed and Marie also have a precious grandson, Eddie's son.
