“Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth!” —Psalm 46:10 NKJV
We bought a nativity set that lights up and goes on your front lawn. People walk by and stare at it with a look that says, “Who are these mysterious people, and where’s Santa?” My granddaughter Allie likes to hug it.
I read the story of a man who had a nativity scene on his front lawn, and vandals stole the figure of the Baby Jesus. The man was distraught, and was quoted in the newspaper, saying, “They have taken my Jesus and I don’t know where he is!” Sometimes people are like that with the real Jesus.
Thankfully, He can’t be stolen. He’s only a prayer away.
No, for the most part, you will not find Him in the so-called “Christmas season.” You need to tune out the noise, the busyness, and the hype and simply “Be still.”
