Today we’ll return to our study in Luke nineteen, where we find the story of a man named Zaccheus. It’s a beautiful story that illustrates just how much God loves each of us on an individual basis. He is indeed a very personal God and He wants a personal relationship with each of us.  If that’s something noticeably absent in your life, than can change today!

When setting out to accomplish a goal, we often find obstacles in our way that hinder our progress. That’s to be expected. But, what if we are the obstacles? What if, as the saying goes, we’re our own worst enemies? In that case, there may never be any real progress. Today on A Daily Walk Jesus has a divine appointment with a rich, young man named Zacchaeus!

As Christians we should always have a Heavenly perspective on life. After all, we have eternity with God in a perfect Heaven waiting for us. Why then do we spend so much time, energy and emotion on petty little things here on earth? Good question! So, where is your treasure? Maybe like the rich young ruler we’ll meet today, a dramatic turnaround is needed!

The ways in which we communicate has certainly changed over the years!  Remember using those rotary phones? Now today we have cell phones, where we can call or text someone wherever we are.  Or email them!  Today on a Daily Walk, we’ll examine the best way to communicate..... with God the Father, through our representative Jesus Christ.  And it hasn’t changed a bit over the years. Pastor John Randall is currently teaching us from the Sermon on the Mount, and he’s encouraging us from the sixty-six word prayer in chapter six that can be used as a model for our prayer lives.

One of the most dangerous deceptions being circulated around these days is the idea that there’s more than one way to get to heaven. You can be a “good person” and get there, they say. Others suggest there is no hell. So, what are the requirements for entrance into heaven? And what are the rewards for those who go there?  If we want the truth, the Bible is the place to turn.

Today John discusses once again a very important part of a Christian’s life - prayer. When we’re conversing with another person they might take it as an insult if we repeated the same thing over and over again to them.  But not so with God.  He delights to hear our requests, and not just one and done.  Often we lack the persistence in prayer that’s needed. We’re to keep praying in faith until we hear the answer!

Have you ever given up on something too soon?  I think we’ve all been there.  Maybe you quit a job out of frustration and later regretted it?  Or perhaps you threw in the towel after a year or two of piano lessons, and wish you hadn’t.  Sometimes we give up too soon in prayer, when we don’t see an answer as quickly as we’d like.  And that’s a big mistake.  Today on a Daily Walk we’ll see how important it is to persevere in prayer.

Currently, Pastor John Randall is developing a study in the Gospel of Luke.  We’ll be in chapter seventeen today, where Jesus is questioned by the Pharisees as to when the kingdom of God is coming.  Maybe you’ve wondered, is Jesus coming soon and what will the world be like just before He returns?  The Lord answers that for us.  He says that it will resemble the days of Noah and of Lot.

Today we reopen the Gospel of Luke together.  In chapter seventeen, Jesus turns our attention to His Second Coming.  It’s been two thousand years since our Lord uttered these words, and one can’t help but ask just when this prophecy will be fulfilled.  Pastor John Randall delivers a study helping us get ready for the return of the Lord.

We’ve reached Matthew chapter six today where we’re exhorted by Christ to do good deeds and give.  Now there’s a right way and a wrong way to go about it.  While many are seeking the approval and applause of people, as they do something good, the Lord wants us to bring Him all the glory instead.
