Today on a Daily Walk pastor John Randall examines the biblical role of government, and our God-given response to those in authority!  As we study Romans thirteen we discover that government plays a very important role in our lives, and we’re to be respectful and obey.  But are there times when we are to refuse to submit to the government?  Where do we draw the line?  We could turn to Daniel for starters, to help us answer that.

As Christians our primary allegiance is to Christ and we know we’re to follow His Word.  But what is our responsibility to the government around us?  And is there ever a point in which we refuse to abide by the laws of the land?  We’re looking at the Christian and our civic responsibility today on a Daily Walk.  It’s part of pastor John Randall’s new study of Romans.

As this world gets darker by the minute, the Christian is to stand out as a light in a dark world!  What does that look like?  We get a good picture of what should be seen in the life of the believer in Romans chapter twelve.  Today pastor John Randall highlights several Christian virtues that should mark our lives.

In the book of Genesis we read about the Garden of Eden, and some of us have wondered, “How great would that be to experience paradise on earth!”  Well if you’re a Christian that’s in your future.  You see, after Jesus returns, paradise will be restored on planet earth for 1,000 years.  What’s it going to be like? You’re about to find out today on a Daily Walk as pastor John Randall opens Revelation chapter twenty.

Whether it’s at a birthday, Christmas or graduation we’re accustomed to giving and receiving gifts.  I think you’d agree it would be rather disappointing to have given a gift to someone and later find out it was never used or put away in storage somewhere.  Now God gives each of His children spiritual gifts… but sadly many Christians never put them to use.  Imagine how that makes the Lord feel? Pastor John Randall returns to his study of Romans here on a Daily Walk and we’ll be focusing on chapter twelve... one of a few spots in Scripture that list the spiritual gifts.  All Christians have been given gifts, and let’s see how to use them to glorify God.

Whether we’re helping someone get their groceries every now and then, caring for babies in the nursery, or helping teach a Sunday School class, God can use us in powerful ways.  Question is are you putting the gifts He’s given you to use?  God wants to use us and what a privilege that is when you stop to think of it.

One hundred percent commitment and surrender to God may sound to some like an unreasonable demand. But when you consider the countless mercies our God has lavished upon us it’s the only worthy response. And we’ll focus on those mercies and our response to them today on a Daily Walk. We’re making our way through the book of Romans and we’ve come to a new section with a new emphasis. From chapter twelve to the end of the book we find an in-depth teaching on the practical response of the believer to the previous eleven chapters. Chapter twelve verse one features an exhortation to total commitment.

Pastor John Randall will rejoin us in a moment, and we’ll be continuing his series in Romans.  As we finish chapter eleven today, Paul is pointing out that God is not done with Israel. He’s looked at the past, present and future to build that case.  John Randall will encourage us today, that just as God has a plan for Israel, He has a plan for us too.

In the courtroom we’re accustomed to seeing both the plaintiff and the defendant make their case before the judge.  All the evidence is laid out.  And on occasion there’s what we might refer to as an open-and-shut case.  Meaning it’s easily decided because the facts are clear.  That’s what we find here in Romans eleven.  The apostle Paul is making a very strong case that God isn’t done with the nation of Israel.  We’re about to hear his closing arguments on a Daily Walk.

We have a very interesting program in store for you today on a Daily Walk as we move on to chapter twenty in our study through the book of Revelation. After the rapture of the church, the seven-year Tribulation, and return of Christ, we’re told that Jesus will reign in His Kingdom.  The cool thing is, if you’re a believer, you’ll rule and reign with Christ!  What will that be like and when will it occur?  Pastor John Randall will share some thoughts today.
