God's Providence Part 2

July 15, 2024

Today we're in Acts twenty-three.   At various times in our lives we’ll find ourselves afraid and feel like we’re all alone! But God has a message for us at such times… Take courage, be of good cheer, and God will stand with us!  Paul needed to hear that at this season of his life.  Maybe you do too!

Fan the Flame
Our special offer right now is Fan the Flame by Jim Cymbala and John Blattner.   Jim Cymbala is a New York Times best-selling author and long time pastor.  Through the years he’s observed a pressing need for back-to-the-basics spiritual leadership among Christians.  And he’s also seen so many churches come to defeat because many leaders forget this one truth: Your church is not your church.  It’s Christ’s church.  And in order for His church to flourish, we have to minister His way.

But God has a message for us at such times… take courage, be of good cheer, and God will stand with us!  Paul needed to hear that at this season of life.  Let’s be encouraged by the Lord who stands with us, even during difficult days like these.

Talking to people about the Lord doesn’t always come easy, wouldn’t you agree?  What do you say and how do you say it?  Will it be well received or will they get angry with us?  Opportunities are all around us, whether it’s in line at the grocery store, waiting in the doctor’s office, or at work!  But will we have the courage to say what needs to be said?  Today on a Daily Walk we’ll learn from the apostle Paul’s experiences that will serve to help us share our testimony and the Gospel.

Today on a Daily Walk we’ll notice what happened to the apostle Paul as he was in the will of God.

What is God’s will?  That’s one of the most frequently asked questions by Christians.  And maybe you’re wrestling over a big decision today, asking that very question?  Should you accept that job offer and move should you be dating a certain person?  Today on a Daily Walk we’ll receive practical guidance to help us live out the will of God.  We’ll be in Acts 21 where Paul is on a journey to Jerusalem.

Jesus taught the harvest is plentiful but the laborers are few. Why is it that the laborers are few? Is it because so many feel unqualified or too busy so they won’t venture into the harvest? Today we’ll study Matthew chapter ten, and discover the kind of people that Jesus calls to be His laborers. You’ll be encouraged to discover they are just like you and me.

Today on a Daily Walk our teacher pastor John Randall opens the book of Acts. In chapter twenty we receive Paul’s farewell address and a powerful example of ministry. Paul was the sort of guy who didn’t hold anything back or water down the Gospel message.  He remained focused on Christ and God’s plan for His life, regardless of what others thought or did.  And wouldn’t you agree we need men and women like that today!

We’re currently going verse by verse through the book of Acts. On today’s broadcast we join pastor John in Acts chapter twenty.  Having discerned it was time to leave Ephesus the apostle Paul and his missionary team are now headed to Macedonia and then on to Greece.  And there are some things that stood out in Paul’s life that John wants to draw our attention to.  Paul was faithful, consistent, a humble servant, and endured in the midst of difficulty.  What a great model for us to consider and follow.
