A Future and a Hope Part 2a

January 16, 2023

In the courtroom we’re accustomed to seeing both the plaintiff and the defendant make their case before the judge.  All the evidence is laid out.  And on occasion there’s what we might refer to as an open-and-shut case.  Meaning it’s easily decided because the facts are clear.  That’s what we find here in Romans eleven.  The apostle Paul is making a very strong case that God isn’t done with the nation of Israel.  We’re about to hear his closing arguments on a Daily Walk.

We have a very interesting program in store for you today on a Daily Walk as we move on to chapter twenty in our study through the book of Revelation. After the rapture of the church, the seven-year Tribulation, and return of Christ, we’re told that Jesus will reign in His Kingdom.  The cool thing is, if you’re a believer, you’ll rule and reign with Christ!  What will that be like and when will it occur?  Pastor John Randall will share some thoughts today.

Pastor John Randall has an eye on Romans chapter eleven today, where the future for the nation of Israel is brought to light. Some wonder today if God has forgotten about His people.  Others suggest the Jews have been replaced by the church. But this chapter in Romans makes it clear… God isn’t done with Israel, and they have a glorious future.  The apostle Paul proves this point, through several testimonies… including his own.

Throughout the day we talk about everything from the weather to what’s on the news, our kids and even about the guy that cut us off on the freeway.  But oftentimes we fail to talk about the most important thing of life, namely the gospel.  Today on a Daily Walk pastor John Randall encourages us to tell others about Jesus every chance we get, with the realization some will reject the message and others will receive it!

We pick up where we left off in Romans, which reveals the way to be made right with God. It’s by believing in Christ. There’s another way but no one can do it! And that’s by keeping the entire law – all of its commands and without fail.  Nobody but Jesus can or has done that.  So consider where you’re at today, and if a change of heart and direction is needed!

Whether it’s for our family, our job, ministry or life in general, we need vision from the Lord.  But how do you obtain that?  Today, pastor John Randall sets out to answer that all important question as he opens Exodus 33.  It’s here Moses was at a place in his life where he needed divine guidance and clear vision.  Maybe that’s where you’re at today?

We continue moving verse by verse through the book of Romans. And in chapter ten we’ll hear about the Savior that God provided as a gift, and the righteousness He provides apart from the works of the law.

Most of us really struggle with patience.  It’s usually on full display for all to see during rush hour traffic, or when the grocery line is more than three people!  But God is very patient and long-suffering in His dealing with us.  And we should be thankful He is!  With that said, that doesn’t mean we should take advantage of it and continue to resist His plan and purpose in our lives.

There are many difficult and debated questions in Christian circles.  One of the biggies has to do with God’s sovereign will.  We’ll discover today on a Daily Walk that God in His sovereignty has the ability to show mercy, and the ability to honor a decision made against Him through a person’s free will!  Does that seem a little unfair or unjust? Or maybe a little hard to understand?  If so, please keep listening as pastor John Randall visits Romans chapter nine.
