SALVATION VS DISCIPLESHIP! Salvation and Discipleship are two totally separate decisions to be made. Peter became saved in John 1:42 when Andrew led Peter to Christ. Jesus invited Peter to become a disciple at a later time in Matthew 4:19, "And he saith unto them, Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men." Salvation is a gift purchased by the death and shed blood of Christ. Discipleship costs you a price and will earn you rewards in heaven. Salvation cannot be lost, but discipleship can be lost. It is impossible to be saved by dependence upon becoming a disciple. Judas, a disciple, never became a believer. Judas went to hell because he never was saved even though he was a disciple. Every believer ought to become a disciple but if they don't, they will still be saved, but lose out on rewards for all eternity.
